The staff were incredibly helpful and provided great recommendations for things to do in the area. The location was perfect, with a mall and supermarket nearby, and plenty of dining options along the waterfront. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the AC kept us cool throughout our stay. The free filtered water and luggage storage were also a nice bonus. we highly recommend this hostel for a great stay in Sandakan.

What a great little find! I stayed at Harbourside Backpackers in Sandakan for a few nights and it was perfect. The place was extremely clean and tidy, even cleaner than some big hotels I've stayed in. The staff were helpful and kind, and the location was right in the heart of the town. The rooms were basic but clean, and the kitchenette for cooking and breakfast was a bonus. Plus, the common areas were spacious and cozy, making it easy to mingle with other travelers. I had a fantastic experience at this hotel.

The kitchen area could use some improvements, particularly the worn-out pots and pans. The laundry service was not up to par, as my clothes were not properly cleaned.

The bathrooms and showers were always spotless. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, even when we had to wake them up early in the morning. The Harbourside Backpackers in Sandakan was exceptional. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the location was convenient, and the whole hotel was clean. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The common area was spacious and had a TV and DVD player. Plus, the hotel was close to a supermarket and the waterfront.
